Job Description


We are hiring an IT Manager – Junior for a leading organization in the shipping and maritime industry. This is an excellent opportunity for IT professionals with experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, network administration, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and vessel IT systems.

The role involves supporting day-to-day IT operations across office and vessel environments, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting ERP systems, and assisting with IT security, backup, and implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Operations & Technical Support

  • Support day-to-day IT operations covering hardware, software, networks, servers, and end-user systems across office and vessel environments.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot IT issues for office users and vessel operations.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of servers, Sophos firewalls, network switches, laptops, desktops, access points, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor IT systems and infrastructure to support optimum uptime, availability, and reliability.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of NAS storage systems for backup, recovery, and file-sharing requirements.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP

  • Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, security profiles, and access controls in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and Purchase Module solutions across vessels.
  • Assist with software installation, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Coordinate with Business Central functional consultants and implementation partners for troubleshooting, enhancements, integrations, and system-related activities.

IT Security & Governance

  • Support implementation and maintenance of IT security and governance controls.
  • Assist with user access management, role management, system configurations, change logs, and time synchronization/NTP.
  • Follow organizational IT policies and applicable CERT-In guidelines.
  • Support cybersecurity-related activities and ensure adherence to established IT controls.

IT Projects & Implementation

  • Assist in planning, execution, monitoring, and implementation of IT projects.
  • Support system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, migrations, and deployment of new applications.
  • Assist in testing and implementation of new IT systems and solutions.

Vendor & Documentation Management

  • Maintain records related to IT contracts, AMC agreements, software licenses, warranties, service reports, and vendor documentation.
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers for routine technical support and issue resolution.

Backup & Data Protection

  • Support regular backup operations for critical business data and systems.
  • Assist with data restoration and recovery activities during system failures or incidents.
  • Support IT disaster recovery and business continuity activities for critical office and vessel systems.
  • Periodically verify backup availability and restoration readiness.

Reporting, Audit & Compliance

  • Support IT, cybersecurity, and other technology-related audits.
  • Provide required technical information, documentation, and evidence for audit and compliance activities.
  • Maintain appropriate IT records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in IT operations, technical support, infrastructure, or system administration.
  • Working knowledge of networks, servers, firewalls, hardware, software, and end-user systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred.
  • Understanding of IT security, backups, data protection, and business continuity.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies and common IT infrastructure.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work with internal teams, vessel personnel, consultants, and external IT service providers.
  • Experience in a shipping or maritime environment will be an advantage.
