Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain FortiGate/Fortinet firewalls and Cisco networking environments.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 switches.
  • Manage VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, trunk/access ports, routing, and network segmentation.
  • Configure and troubleshoot firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, routing, security profiles, and firewall logs.
  • Monitor network connectivity, infrastructure performance, and system availability.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, Windows operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Support communication systems and electronic/network-connected equipment.
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices covering access control, network segmentation, VPNs, endpoint protection, patching, and security monitoring.
  • Support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Diagnose technical issues systematically and implement effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with vessels/users, vendors, service providers, and internal technical teams to resolve incidents.
  • Maintain technical documentation, infrastructure records, and configuration details.
  • Support IT infrastructure requirements in operational environments, including vessels where applicable.
  • Participate in a 24/7 technical support operation and work in shifts as required.
  • Take ownership of technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and support processes.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience.
  • Experience in a technical, industrial, maritime, or similar operational environment preferred.
  • Strong practical knowledge of FortiGate/Fortinet and Cisco networking.
  • Hands-on experience with Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, VLANs, routing, trunk/access ports, and network segmentation.
  • Strong knowledge of FortiGate firewall administration, including firewall policies, NAT, VPN, routing, security profiles, and logs.
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure, communication systems, and network-connected equipment.
  • Previous vessel/onboard IT experience will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and network security.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 preferred.
  • Strong hardware, software, networking, and connectivity troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good coordination skills when working with users, vendors, service providers, and technical teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts as part of a 24/7 technical support environment.
  • Strong willingness to learn, take ownership, and continuously develop technical expertise.

About the Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced IT infrastructure professional to work across network administration, firewall management, cybersecurity, infrastructure support, and technical troubleshooting.
