Job Description


We are hiring a Marine QHSE Superintendent for a leading offshore marine services organization in Mumbai. The role will be responsible for QHSE, marine assurance, regulatory compliance, DP integrity, audits, incident investigation, and safety management across a fleet of DP2 AHTS, PSV and FFSV vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and continually improve the Company’s SMS in line with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC 2006 and DG Shipping requirements.
  • Manage DOC/SMC, manuals, procedures, risk assessments and emergency response documentation.
  • Coordinate OVID/OVIQ inspections, MWS surveys, client audits and DP assurance reviews.
  • Integrate DP assurance into the SMS, including DP FMEA, annual DP trials and critical equipment tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with charterer requirements, including ONGC QHSE requirements.
  • Conduct internal vessel and office audits and coordinate Flag State, Class, MMD and PSC inspections.
  • Lead incident, near-miss and environmental-event investigations, including Root Cause Analysis and CAPA.
  • Facilitate HIRA, JSA, Risk Assessments and Management of Change (MOC).
  • Liaise with DG Shipping, MMD, Flag State and Classification Societies on regulatory and certification matters.
  • Monitor statutory, class, DP and offshore certifications and ensure timely renewals.
  • Monitor crew competency, including DPO certification and currency, drills, safety campaigns and training records.
  • Maintain emergency response and contingency plans and participate in emergency response activities.
  • Ensure MARPOL, pollution prevention, waste management and environmental compliance.
  • Prepare monthly QHSE reports covering LTIF, TRIR, near-miss reporting, audit closure, training compliance, OVID and DP performance.
  • Support tender submissions, charter renewals and pre-fixture inspections with QHSE and marine assurance documentation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Marine CoC – Master / Chief Officer / Class 1 Engineer preferred.
  • Familiarity with DP operations preferred.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 preferred.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH certification will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates across experience levels may be considered, from developing marine QHSE professionals to experienced compliance specialists.
  • Exposure to DP2 offshore vessels, AHTS, PSV, FFSV, towing or offshore operations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OVID/OVIQ, MWS inspections, IMCA M190, DP FMEA and offshore marine assurance is desirable.
  • Experience dealing with DG Shipping, MMD, Flag State and Class will be advantageous.
  • ONGC charter requirements and Indian DOC management exposure will be an added advantage.
  • Strong skills in incident investigation, risk assessment, auditing, regulatory compliance and stakeholder management.
