Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Project Logistics for a position based in Delhi. This opportunity is suited to logistics professionals with experience handling Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC), breakbulk, and heavy-lift cargo movements, particularly within project logistics and freight forwarding environments.
The role involves coordinating complex project cargo movements, managing logistics activities, liaising with customers and service providers, and ensuring the smooth and timely execution of heavy-lift and breakbulk shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end project logistics activities for ODC, breakbulk, and heavy-lift cargo.
- Plan and manage transportation and logistics requirements for complex project cargo movements.
- Coordinate with customers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, ports, terminals, and other logistics service providers.
- Handle documentation and operational requirements related to project cargo shipments.
- Support route planning, cargo movement planning, and transportation coordination for oversized and heavy cargo.
- Monitor shipment schedules, cargo movements, loading, unloading, and delivery activities.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of project shipments.
- Obtain and evaluate freight, transportation, handling, and other logistics requirements from service providers.
- Monitor project cargo movements and proactively address operational delays or challenges.
- Ensure compliance with applicable transportation, port, customs, and cargo-handling requirements.
- Maintain shipment records, operational documentation, and project-related reports.
- Support commercial teams with costing, quotations, and logistics solutions for project cargo requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in Project Logistics / Project Cargo operations.
- Hands-on experience handling ODC, Breakbulk, and Heavy-Lift cargo.
- Strong understanding of project cargo transportation and freight forwarding operations.
- Experience coordinating with shipping lines, transporters, ports, terminals, and logistics service providers.
- Good knowledge of project cargo documentation and operational processes.
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good commercial awareness and ability to support logistics costing and quotations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and operational priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to work from Delhi.
