Capt. Gaurav is the founder of Sea and Beyond and has

  • Promoter for Sea and Beyond which is a recognized partner of ICS.
  • Passed MICS with distinction in 2011 
  • Sailed for 13 years
  • Worked as Technical Director in British Maritime Technology for 4 years
  • Worked in IBM for 4 years where he program managed large data analytics projects
  • Passionate about Learning and development and growth of maritime community



Capt.Vineet Shukla
Director-Education at Sea and Beyond,

Capt. Vineet Shukla is a seasoned maritime professional with 30+ years of experience, primarily on tankers, and strong expertise in ship management, education, and ship recycling. His command-level experience and roles as Marine Superintendent, DPA/CSO, and internal auditor make him a respected mentor in the industry.

After moving ashore, he expanded into maritime education, designing practical upskilling programs for seafarers and maritime professionals. As Director–Education at Sea and Beyond, he guides individuals through career transitions, job selection, and higher education pathways.

With deep knowledge in HSEQ, inspections, tanker operations, and regulatory compliance—supported by leadership experience with Maersk—he offers clear, practical advice for those aiming to move ashore or advance into management roles.

Holding a Master (FG) license along with DPA/CSO, Internal Audit, and IHM/HAZMAT certifications, Capt. Vineet continues to provide professionals with clarity, confidence, and direction in their maritime careers.

Work Experience: 
Sailing experience for 18 years, mostly on tankers (including 4 yrs as Master).
4 years of experience as Marine S'updt/DPA/CSO
7 years with Maersk Ship recycling
