Capt. Ashok Srinivasan is a highly respected maritime professional with deep operational, technical and regulatory experience, currently serving as Regional Manager & Technical Advisor at BIMCO, Singapore, where he represents shipowners and industry stakeholders on key global maritime matters.
He brings more than two decades of seafaring, technical and regulatory leadership to his work at BIMCO, where he advises on maritime operations, safety and international regulation. Hecompleted his MBA from Copenhagen Business School in 2018 and has been with BIMCO since than. He is also Chairman advisory committee at IACS. His experience reflects a deep commitment to elevating competency and standards across the industry. A frequent speaker on maritime safety, skill development and operational excellence, Capt. Srinivasan’s insights are particularly valuable in conversations about building resilient, future-ready workforces that can meet the evolving demands of global shipping.
The webinar would consist of the following:
- A 30 minute presentation by Capt. Ashok
- 20-25 minutes of Q&A wherein Capt. Ashok would take questions

About the Speakers
Capt. Gaurav Rana
Founder, Sea and Beyond,Capt. Gaurav is the founder of Sea and Beyond which helps mariners transition ashore. He has assisted more than 100+ mariners in the career progression. Through his company, Sea and Beyond, we have been able to assist maritime professionals by
a) Building awareness of various fields where a mariner could go
b) Understanding best fields for them through psychometry test
c) Counselling to get into a field
d) Upskilling through various courses with the network of colleges partnered with
e) Facilitating placement ashore through the network of 250+ companies partnered with Sea and Beyond.

- Sailed for 13 years
- Worked as Technical Director in British Maritime Technology for 4 years
- Completed MBA from IIM- Ahmedabad
- Passed MICS with distinction in 2011
- Worked in IBM for 4 years where he program managed large data analytics projects
- Passionate about Learning and development and growth of maritime community
