Many of us may or many have heard about the Company of Master Mariners of India (CMMI) but all of us would have thought of either benefiting or giving back to our fraternity depending on what stage of our career we are in. We all would have also planned to be part of a larger professional network of mariners and understand how we could learn and just keep ourselves updated.
In this regard, Sea and Beyond is doing a webinar with CMMI and the key points covered in the webinar will be:
- Origins and vision of the Company of Master Mariners of India
- A broad overview of how it is governed and where all is it affiliated to
- Which all government bodies are CMMI partnered and how do we support them?
- How is CMMI helping the cause of seafarers?
- Who can become a member of CMMI? Is it open to non-master mariners as well?
- What are the various chapters of CMMI?
- How can you enroll and the benefits
- Testimonials of various members who have benefited.
This webinar is a must-attend for anyone who wants to enhance their network, be part of a larger community, and contribute to it.
The webinar will be presented by
- Capt. Vivek K. Bhandarkar, Secretary General of CMMI
- Gajanan Karanjikar, Warden and Chair of Nashik Chapter
- Capt Santha Kumar, Chairman Membership committee,
- Capt Vijay Sharma, HSSEQ Manager and New member
About CMMI.

CMMI provides a valuable service to the seafarers in India through various activities such as conducting educational seminars, publishing books and magazines, advising and assisting the DGS and promoting the Merchant Navy as a career option for youngsters.
The webinar would consist of the following:
- A 30-35 minute presentation by Capt. Bhandarkar and Capt. Gajanan where in they would talk about CMMI.
- 20-25 minutes of Q&A wherein the presenters would take questions
