Job Description


We are hiring a Marine Operations Manager – LPG / Ethylene Fleet for a leading shipping company. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced maritime professionals looking to advance their shore-based careers in marine operations, safety, and fleet management, including those exploring marine operations manager jobs, LPG vessel management careers, and gas carrier operational roles.

The role involves overseeing marine and security operations, ensuring vessel safety and compliance, managing cargo operations, and supporting operational excellence across LPG and Ethylene vessel fleets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily marine operational aspects of assigned vessels including navigation, mooring, deck equipment, safety equipment, STS operations, and port operations
• Ensure safe cargo loading, discharging, tank preparation, and grade change operations
• Monitor vessel condition, operational performance, and navigational safety standards
• Manage and support third-party inspections including SIRE, CDI, PSC, USCG, Terminal, and Flag State inspections
• Conduct management inspections, internal audits, and onboard safety assessments
• Review and respond to navigational reports, safety observations, inspections, near misses, incidents, and accident reports
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions following audits or inspections
• Investigate incidents and accidents when assigned by Fleet Management
• Conduct officer appraisals and recommend promotion or development actions
• Interview deck officers to assess suitability for recruitment and promotion
• Monitor vessel certification, documentation, and record keeping requirements
• Support planned and unplanned repairs while ensuring operational safety and compliance

Requirements:

• Master Mariner Certificate of Competency is mandatory
• Sailing experience as Master or Chief Officer on LPG or Ethylene Vessels is required
• Strong understanding of gas carrier operations, cargo handling, marine safety, and compliance requirements
• Experience with SIRE, CDI, PSC, and marine audit processes is preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage fleet operations in a fast-paced operational environment
