Job Description


We are hiring a Fleet Head – Dry Fleet Crewing Operations for a leading ship management company based in Mumbai. This is an excellent opportunity for senior maritime professionals looking to lead large-scale crewing operations, strategic workforce management, and fleet manpower planning, including those exploring fleet head jobs, maritime crewing leadership careers, and dry fleet operations management roles.

The role involves overseeing end-to-end crewing strategy, vessel manning, operational readiness, compliance management, and leadership of dry fleet crewing operations across vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Fleet Managers to ensure smooth crewing operations across the dry fleet
  • Oversee vessel manning, mobilization, rotation planning, relief management, and emergency crew changes
  • Ensure operational readiness for yard deliveries, vessel takeovers, and fleet expansion activities
  • Strengthen employer branding and positioning within the maritime industry
  • Support leadership visibility and engagement across fleet operations and seafarer management activities
  • Oversee audit readiness and compliance management across the fleet
  • Manage union agreements, legal compliance, and authorized signatory responsibilities for key documents
  • Standardize manning processes and improve operational efficiency across fleet operations
  • Monitor financial performance and operational KPIs related to crewing and vessel management
  • Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and strategic business discussions
  • Support business continuity and operational excellence initiatives across the organization

Requirements:

  • Master Mariner or Chief Engineer qualification is mandatory
  • Minimum 9+ years of shore-based experience with leadership exposure is required
  • Strong understanding of maritime regulations, DG Shipping, MLC, CBA, SEA, and union agreements
  • Proven experience in fleet crewing operations, stakeholder management, and leadership roles
  • Strong financial, operational, and strategic management capabilities
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage large-scale fleet operations in a dynamic maritime environment
