Job Description


We are hiring a General Manager – Finance for a leading shipping company. The role involves leading financial operations, strategic planning, accounting management, compliance, and financial decision-making while supporting business growth and operational efficiency within the maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee finance and accounting operations across the organization
  • Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation regulations, and financial governance policies
  • Prepare and review financial statements, MIS reports, and management reports for senior leadership
  • Drive financial modeling, business analysis, and data-driven decision-making initiatives
  • Oversee ERP systems, financial controls, and process optimization activities
  • Coordinate with auditors, banks, regulatory authorities, and key stakeholders for financial operations
  • Monitor cash flow, cost management, profitability analysis, and financial risk assessment
  • Lead finance teams, mentor staff, and drive high-performance financial management practices
  • Support business expansion strategies, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability initiatives

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification mandatory
  • Over 10 years of experience in finance and accounting functions
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within maritime, logistics, or shipping sector
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and shipping industry financial practices
  • Proven expertise in ERP systems, financial modeling, and strategic financial planning
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage large-scale financial operations in a dynamic business environment
