Job Description


We are hiring a Vetting Auditor for a leading Shipping Company. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced maritime professionals to conduct vessel vetting audits, ensure compliance with international regulations, and enhance safety, quality, and environmental performance across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct internal vetting inspections and prepare vessels for SIRE and CDI inspections
• Train onboard crew on vetting requirements, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance
• Verify implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from inspections and audits
• Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, Flag State, Class, and Company IMS requirements
• Monitor Planned Maintenance System (PMS) compliance and onboard safety processes
• Analyze SIRE/CDI reports, identify trends, and recommend continuous improvement measures
• Support environmental compliance initiatives and promote a strong safety culture onboard
• Liaise between vessels and shore management to improve vetting performance and operational standards

Requirements:

• Certificate of Competency with sailing experience as Master or Chief Engineer
• Minimum 24 months of experience as Master/Chief Officer or Chief Engineer/Second Engineer on Tankers (Gas Carrier experience preferred)
• Shore-based Superintendent experience on Gas Carriers will also be considered
• Strong knowledge of SIRE 2.0, CDI, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, Class and Flag State requirements
• Willingness to travel extensively and support vessels globally at short notice
• Excellent analytical, communication, training, and stakeholder management skills
