Job Description


We are hiring a Senior Officer / Officer – Seafarer Training & Development for a leading shipping company. This is an excellent opportunity for maritime professionals looking to build their careers in crew training management, competency development, and maritime compliance operations, including those exploring seafarer training jobs, crew development careers, and maritime training coordination roles.

The role involves managing seafarer training programs, coordinating cadet development, monitoring compliance with maritime regulations, and supporting training effectiveness across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Improve Seagull CBT completion rates and monitor training compliance across the fleet
• Coordinate promotion panel preparations and support seafarer competency evaluations
• Enhance and maintain the Seafarer Training Plan and EMR001 Training Matrix
• Review and verify training-related invoices and budgets
• Coordinate cadet training arrangements and crew development programs
• Organize and manage Ship Manager Seminars conducted bi-annually
• Support implementation of system enhancements such as Shipmate
• Maintain CBT matrix records, contracts, invoicing, and vessel compliance documentation
• Run and distribute quarterly Seagull reports using OLP systems
• Prepare annual training budgets and year-end cost analysis reports
• Maintain training records, seminar feedback, and communication materials
• Respond to audit queries and provide training-related evidence and documentation

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of shore-based experience in a Ship Management Company, preferably in Crew Training Management
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office, PAL, Shipmate, and Ocean Learning Platform (OLP)
• Strong understanding of STCW, MLC, ISM, IMO, TMSA, Flag State requirements, and crew documentation
• Familiarity with maritime database systems and training management platforms
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills
• Flexible mindset with ability to work across cultural and multinational environments
• Strong teamwork and organizational abilities
