Job Description


We are hiring a Marine Personnel Officer – Crew Management & Marine HR for a leading ship management company based in Mumbai. This is an excellent opportunity for maritime HR and crewing professionals looking to build their careers in crew management, marine HR operations, and seafarer coordination, including those exploring marine personnel officer jobs, crewing careers, and maritime HR roles.

The role involves managing crew operations, coordinating seafarer documentation and travel, supporting crew planning activities, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Junior Officer and Ratings appointments, career development, and crew coordination activities
• Liaise with Fleet Directors and Vessel Managers regarding crew planning and operational requirements
• Ensure adequate availability of trained and compliant seafarers for vessel operations
• Coordinate recruitment and promotion interviews for Ratings and Junior Officers
• Monitor STCW certifications, mandatory training, visas, and flag state documentation requirements
• Coordinate renewal and application of visas, CRA, MCV, E-Migration, and related documentation
• Supervise pre-joining documentation including PEME, checklists, visas, and joining formalities
• Arrange travel bookings, hotel accommodations, and office briefing/debriefing logistics for seafarers
• Act as first point of contact for seafarers during travel and joining processes
• Upload medical correspondence and approve medical claims within company systems
• Monitor extension contracts and ensure timely crew contract renewals
• Assist during internal and external audits related to crew management and compliance
• Maintain accurate records within crewing and HR management systems
• Provide backup support for fleet/team Marine Personnel Officers as required

Requirements:

• Diploma in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related discipline is preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant Marine HR or Crewing experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of maritime documentation, STCW requirements, and crew management processes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build strong professional relationships with seafarers and operational teams
• Strong teamwork, coordination, and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is mandatory
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced maritime environment
