Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Manager – Operations to oversee the sourcing, planning, coordination, and welfare of Chief Engineers and Officers assigned to the fleet. The role focuses on effective crew planning, regulatory compliance, personnel retention, promotions, training, and smooth crew-change operations.

The position is responsible for managing assigned ranks in line with the company matrix, maintaining strong relationships with maritime personnel, supporting their professional development, and ensuring efficient coordination between vessels, offices, owners, and relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate Chief Engineers and Officers according to fleet requirements and the company matrix.
  • Review appraisals, monitor availability, and maintain strong crew relationships to improve retention.
  • Monitor the welfare, certification, training, and professional development of on-leave personnel.
  • Track eligible candidates and coordinate selection, promotion, and briefing interviews.
  • Arrange training programs, pre-joining briefings, and required development activities.
  • Coordinate crew changes, travel, visas, contracts, flag documents, and pre-joining compliance.
  • Maintain vessel communication, update vessel positions and crew planners, and participate in operational meetings.
  • Liaise with internal departments, owners, vessels, DG Shipping, and relevant authorities while supporting audits and retention initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar maritime crewing or operations role.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, industry standards, and crew-management procedures.
  • Experience in officer planning, crew coordination, promotions, training, and retention management.
  • Familiarity with crewing applications and maritime personnel-management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, environmental responsibility, and crew welfare.
