  • Review Charter Parties, recaps, riders, amendments, and related contractual documents.
  • Interpret and apply Charter Party terms accurately across assigned work.
  • Identify contractual inconsistencies, errors, omissions, and potential process gaps.
  • Use AI-enabled tools for document review, CP auditing, drafting, comparison, and analysis.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs and apply professional judgement to ensure accuracy.
  • Refine AI-assisted workflows to improve processing efficiency and quality.
  • Deliver accurate and timely CP-Desk services while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Support junior specialists with CP processing, vetting, and drafting activities.
  • Support strategic accounts and quality-critical Charter Party assignments.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased use of AI within CP-Desk operations.
  • Contribute to improving operational efficiency and overall CP-Desk performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional maritime or shipping qualification such as ICS or an equivalent recognised qualification will be an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Charter Party processing, vetting, drafting, chartering operations, or a closely related maritime commercial operations function.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on CP-Desk or equivalent Charter Party experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Charter Parties and post-fixture operations.
  • Strong understanding of recaps, riders, amendments, and contractual terminology.
  • Practical experience using AI-enabled tools for document review, drafting, comparison, analysis, or process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify contractual inconsistencies and errors.
  • Ability to independently manage quality-critical Charter Party processing.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting strategic chartering accounts.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior Charter Party specialists.
  • Experience with AI-assisted document processing and automation.
  • Understanding of digital maritime workflows.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency improvement.
  • Strong ability to assess AI outputs, recognise limitations, and apply appropriate professional judgement.

About the Role

This position is suited to experienced Charter Party and maritime commercial operations professionals with strong CP auditing, vetting, and drafting experience. The role combines traditional Charter Party expertise with AI-enabled document processing and workflow optimisation, making accuracy, analytical ability, and digital proficiency important aspects of the position.
